They serve 4 year staggered terms. The City Council meets every two weeks (the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month) at 6 p.m. Meetings are televised locally. Police protection is provided by the City of Broomfield Police Dept.
Fire protection is provided by the North Metro Fire Rescue District. Broomfield has 3 state Senators and 3 state Representatives in the Colorado State Legislature, and on the national level, Colorado has 2 Senators and 6 Congressmen who represent Broomfield in Washington, DC.
