Hello again,
I thought I would pass this info on to you just before Midnight New York
(EST) Time. For some of you it may be too late.
I just heard an hour ago a major cause of Y2K PC Problems is the fact many
users have their PC settings set to a 2-digit year, which means the PC may
thing Jan 1, 200 is Jan 1 1900.
I checked my two computers I was surprised to see both set to 2-digit
years! It's real easy to fix if you have not already done so.
Go to Start, then Settings, then Control Panel, then Regional Settings,
then click-on Date. Next change Short Date Style to MM/dd/yyyy Then change
Long Date Style to MMMM dd, yyyy
From what I understand this will fix the problem!
Also, here is a message from a an Australian friend of mine "Happy Y2K!
Everything went off here (Australia) without a hitch. We won't know the
full story until commerce begins anew on the 3rd or 4th, but here in the
Antipodes, all is well. The only glitches I have found is that
TradeStation 4's Omega Server rolled the date from 12/31/1999 to
12/31/2000. Typical"
Isn't it amazing the only Y2K glitch I heard of all day involved Omega
TradeStation!
Go to go now and transmit this to you as it's 11:57 PM EST and the Times
Square ball is dropping soon! Perhaps you can fix you PC dates real quick
if necessary!
Regards,
Dave Green
