YOGA TIPS

SET YOUR INTENTION
Why are you practicing yoga? To alleviate back pain, relieve stress, increase strength and flexibility, cross training, spiritual ... etc.
PREPARING YOUR SPACE FOR YOGA
If planning on a private yoga session at your home . . . choose a clean, uncluttered space for your yoga practice. Inform others not to disturb you during this time and turn off phones, answering machines and minimize other outside noise. If the temperate is comfortable, you can practice outdoors on a patio or backyard if you prefer. If you would like quiet music during your practice, have a stereo available.
PRACTICING AT THE STUDIO
Arrive early and enter the studio quietly as many yogis like to get to class early for meditation and gentle stretching. If you happen to be late just settle into the back of the class quietly. And remember, in order to honor the eastern tradition (and keep the floors clean) there are no shoes allowed in the asana room. Also, do not bring in cell phones or other distracting items such as large bags, etc.
INJURIES
If you have any new or old injuries please inform me before class. I'll do my best to assist those with injuries on safe modifications for the postures.
WHAT YOU NEED
Have a yoga mat, water bottle and towel.
WHAT TO EAT
Try not to eat at least 2-hours before practicing yoga.
WHAT TO WEAR
Proper yoga attire is non-restrictive comfortable clothes such as sweat/yoga pants, shorts, t-shirts and other gym clothes, and bare feet. Please refrain from wearing fragrances to class.
